The City of Evanston’s Public Works Department invites community members to take an online survey to provide feedback on the latest design concepts for Baker Park, located at Keeney St. and Forest Ave.
Based on public meetings held on July 10 and October 1, 2014, the department developed two revised concept plans to maintain the open green space in the northern half of the park, and preserve the existing berm, trees and community garden in the park’s southeast corner.
New construction projects planned for Baker Park include a basketball court; a playground for children ages 2-12; a baseball backstop; an alleyway entrance located north of the field house; and the removal of the existing arborvitae hedge located east of the basketball court.
The survey will help the Evanston Public Works Department identify and finalize design elements based on the community’s feedback. After consolidating input, staff will present the final design to the community in January 2015 and begin construction in the summer.
To complete the survey, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BakerParkRenovation. Surveys must be completed by Tuesday, December 16. For more information, please contact Senior Project Manager Stefanie Levine at 847-448-8043.
A public meeting was held on October 1, 2014 at Lincoln School. The presentation can be found here:
