State of the Schools Event – Thurs. Jan. 29

District 65 and District 202 to host State of the Schools event
Superintendents Goren and Witherspoon will share their visions for “Building Our Future Together”

Evanston/Skokie School District 65 and Evanston Township High School District 202 are partnering to host the inaugural “State of the Schools” event on Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Evanston Township High School.

This will be the first time in recent history that the two districts will partner in hosting a community-wide event to discuss the state of the public schools in Evanston and Skokie. Superintendents Paul Goren (District 65) and Eric Witherspoon (District 202) will share their visions on how the Evanston/Skokie public schools can prepare all students for future success.

The event is free and open to the public. All parents, students, alumni, staff, current and potential residents, and people who work in Evanston/Skokie organizations or businesses are invited to attend and learn more about the current state of D65/D202 schools.

Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. with a welcome reception in the Michael Cafeteria. The State of the Schools address will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. The program will end with a Q&A session. All those in attendance will have the opportunity to submit a question on the evening of the event. In addition, questions can be submitted online in advance via Google Moderator: Not all questions submitted can be read during the State of the Schools event. Questions submitted via Google Moderator must be received by 5:00 PM two days before the event.

Those who are unable to attend the event can watch live on Evanston Comcast channel 18 or on the ETHS Ustream channel beginning at 7:00 p.m.:

Evanston Township High School is located at 1600 Dodge Avenue and the auditorium is wheelchair accessible. Parking is recommended in the lot directly across from the auditorium entrance on Dodge Avenue or in the parking lots behind the school.
