While the company is producing a professional version of the show, the teenagers chosen by audition will present their own version on the same Cahn Auditorium stage with the same set used in the professional production.
The program, which charges a $1,250 fee per participant, will run two-and-a-half weeks, and seeks “serious teens age 13 to 18 who want to work like professionals.”
Students learn with director/choreographer Caryn Ott Hillman, music director Christopher Richard and program manager Anya Plotkin, plus special guest directors, musicians and actors to gain insight into the theatrical process.
Rehearsals will be held at the air-conditioned Light Opera Works rehearsal center, 516 4th St. in Wilmette starting Wednesday, July 29. The final public performance is at air-conditioned Cahn Auditoroum, 600 Emerson St. in Evanston on Monday Aug. 17.
A $50 audition fee due with online registration. Scholarships are available — call 847-920-5360 for details
