Auditions will be held the week of January 11 for spring productions from Evanston Children’s Theatre and Tater Tot Theatre Company.

Evanston’s Tater Tot Theatre Company, the “little sibling” to Evanston Children’s Theatre, will hold auditions for children ages 5 to 7 years for “Timothy Goes to School” on Monday, January 11 and Wednesday, January 13, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, Studio 223, 927 Noyes St. Participants should arrive no later than 5:30 p.m.
“Timothy Goes to School” is adapted from a series of children’s books by acclaimed author/illustrator Rosemary Wells. Children will easily relate to this tale, in which humor and realism effectively mesh. Performances will take place at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St., on Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27. The fee for those cast is $100.
Evanston Children’s Theatre
Evanston Children’s Theatre is holding auditions for children ages 8 through 8th grade for “Schoolhouse Rock Live! JR.” on Tuesday, January 12 and Thursday, January 14, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave. Participants should arrive no later than 5:30 p.m.
This energetic musical follows Tom, a young school teacher who is nervous about his first day of teaching. He tries to relax by watching TV when various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music. Performances will take place on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 at the Levy Center, and Sunday, April 3 at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. The fee for those cast is $110.
