Sewing Summer Camps

Register before April 1st and receive 20% off all camps.

Monday through Friday from 9am-noon. Unless stated, camps include all materials and assume no prior knowledge of sewing.

Most camps are $200 with the exception of the short session from July 6-8 and the Pajama Pants camp.

June 13-17 Basic Machine Sewing $200 Ages 8-12: Learn the basics and make an array of fun projects.

June 20-24 Pajama Pants $190 Ages 11-15: For the teen and tween set. This is a great introduction to garment sewing. We’ll take a field trip to Vogue Fabrics on the first day and purchase supplies for the project (campers are welcome to purchase studio fabric at 15% discount). The rest of the week will be spent taking measurements, plotting the pattern and, of course, sewing! We’ll learn how to prepare fabric and square it for cutting, how to sew French seams and encase elastic, among other skills. Campers will leave with a re-usable custom pattern. Campers will need to bring $25 on the first day to go shopping at Vogue–there will be change!

June 27-July 1 Patchwork $200 Ages 8-12: We’ll make a mini-quilt using charm squares and all-cotton batting and backing fabric. Each camper will learn how to arrange, piece together and line or hand quilt their piece. Time-permitting, a second project introducing another kind of patchwork will be made in this camp.

July 6-8 Basic Machine Sewing $120 Ages 8-12: Another chance to learn the basics of sewing during a short week.

July 11-15 Hand Crafting $200 Ages 8-12: Maybe a sewing machine isn’t your thing–we can still make lots of fun items with our hands! Projects may include: French Knitting, Koi Kites, Weaving, Dream Catchers, Friendship Bracelets and other super- fun and cute items. Uses new and recycled materials.

July 18-22 Dolls $200 Ages 9-13 (with prior sewing experience, please): Handmade dolls are about the sweetest things ever. Each camper will learn the process of basic doll-making including how to hand-embroider the face and how to make and apply yarn hair. Campers will need prior sewing experience, to include a camp, class or other sewing experience to get the most out of this camp.

July 25-29 Softies and Mobiles $200 Ages 8-12: Sew fish to make a mobile, then make an Owl, Hen or Ugly Doll. Uses new and recycled materials. We’ll talk about balance and design as well.

**Please note that camps with less than 50% enrollment by June 1 may be cancelled and a full refund given.
