We have established an amazing line-up for our afternoon summer camp series targeting children 2.5-6 years old. Gather camps survey the creative modalities of movement/ yoga, music, dramatic play, art making, storytelling & the culinary arts; engage diverse learning styles and expose your children to multicultural studies.
Gather’s Summer camp begins at 3:45 with a healthy, organic snack. A structured activity time runs from 4-4:30/40 with a Gather teaching artist, followed by self-directed play in our imaginative play space, and a closing ritual that begins at 4:55. Each of our professional teaching artists has extensive early childhood experience and a rich background as an artist/teacher in their area of expertise. As our weeks have a special focus and theme, each session will build upon the next and will incorporate new and sequential learning.
We know there are lots of fun things to do in the summer, but also know that the afternoons (whether your little ones are napping or not) can be a challenging time. We have designed our daily camp to offer some fun and structure as you wind down into the evening. So go to the beach in the morning, take a big nap and join us at Gather for meaningful, engaged, creative play (& a snack)!

Tinkergarten classes help kids learn and grow through outdoor play-based learning activities. It’s based on the belief that independent exploration and well-designed play scenarios balanced with the right type of guidance are the keys to kids developing a host of important capabilities, including self reliance, creativity, teamwork and problem solving.
For the kids, it’s a chance to get messy, solve mysteries, move their bodies, form friendships and have fun. For parents, it’s a chance to get together with other, like-minded parents and learn creative and effective ways to play and learn with your kids.
Instructors are Evanston moms who are dedicated to the movement in play-based education.
The formal curriculum begins on Wednesday, June 22nd. The program will continue year-round, so if the summer schedule doesn’t work, there will be additional classes offered in the Fall.
