Bring the family and join Evanston In-School Music Association (EISMA) for an evening of live music, food, and a beautiful selection of silent auction items in the cool atmosphere of Five and Dime. Proceeds from this evening’s event will go toward EISMA’s diverse, inclusive programming which brings professional music twice a year to all 7800+ students in District 65 elementary and middle schools. Featuring performances by:

  • Taiko Legacy 13, traditional Japanese drumming – one of EISMA’s diverse musical genres
  • Halfstache, jazz/funk/rock. Members are ETHS alumni: Leif Opland (piano), Michael Werner (trumpet), Tony Mest (drums), and Simon Ciaccio (bass).

Performances begin at 4:45, so arrive early to mingle, see auction items, and have some food and drinks. Tickets start at $40.00 ($75/couple) and include food and one free drink. Children 12 and under are Free! Discounted student tickets also available. See  for tickets and more information.

Proceeds from this event help support EISMA’s programming.  Since 1971, EISMA, a not-for-profit organization, has presented Concerts for Kids twice a year in each District 65 school, presenting diverse musical genres and cultures to your children throughout their K – 8 experience. With contributions from individuals, grants, and school PTAs/PTOs, EISMA seeks to inspire students with a full range of musical styles, instruments, and ethnic traditions.  Visit the Evanston In-School Music Association at http://www.eismaconcerts.org/ Facebook or via email at  eismaconcerts@gmail.com

ST Math Parent Night – Weds. Nov. 2

district-65-st-math-parent-night1

D65 is sponsoring a PARENT NIGHT — so parents can learn more about ST Math and how to use it at home to supplement their student’s learning. Representatives from ST Math and the District will be there to demo and answer questions.

This TEDx talk is also very powerful, and shows the founder’s motivation for creating ST Math – he is dyslexic and struggled to learn because he could not read!

Navigating Real Life Diversity: Session 2 – Weds. Nov. 2 – CANCELLED
