Managing Adolescent Stress and Anxiety – Mon. Dec. 7

ETHS AnxietyDear Parents and Guardians,

I am pleased to invite you to the first Welcome Center Parent Education Program of the 2015-16 school year, “Managing Adolescent Stress and Anxiety,” on Monday, December 7, 2015, at 7:00pm in the ETHS Welcome Center, Room E112.

The event will feature Danielle Black, Ph.D., David Hauser, Ph.D., and Brittney Bolden, MSMFT, three expert clinicians from The Family Institute at Northwestern University who specialize in treating teen stress and anxiety. They will each give a short presentation, and then lead a group discussion and Q&A.

The Welcome Center staff surveyed parents during parent-teacher conference sign-up about topics relevant to your student’s academic, social, and emotional needs. Teen stress/anxiety had the highest rate of interest, so this is where our parent education efforts will begin.

Taya Kinzie, Associate Principal of Student Services, and I will also be present to answer questions about services offered through ETHS to students coping with stress and anxiety.

Please note that if you are unable to attend, the event will be videotaped and posted on the Welcome Center Parent Programswebpage for later viewing. In the meantime, I encourage you to join me on December 7 for this informative and lively evening — it’s a great opportunity to meet other ETHS parents. I hope to see you there!

Marcus Campbell, Ed.D.

Assistant Superintendent/Principal
