Dance With Me, Toddler!™ – Hip Circle Studio – Starts April 19

This is a great way to start creating an active lifestyle for your family, and is fun to boot! Your toddler will have the freedom to follow the ebb and flow of their interest, while you get to learn to move your body. 

Looking to get your workout in? This class will do it so come dressed comfortably and be prepared to sweat! We’ll be barefoot for the class, so feel free to bring grippy socks (for you or your toddler) if that’s more comfortable for you.

Fit4Mom Body Back FREE Preview Class – Weds. Sept. 7

Fit4Mom Body Back FREE preview class Wednesday, September 7th at 7pm in the Little Beans gym.

Come find out what Body Back is all about! It is a results-based 8 week program consisting of high intensity interval (HIIT) workouts, a meal plan and food journal (no gimmicks- just clean eating!), group support and individual coaching for moms who want their “body back” whether they just had a baby or their last child was born 30 years ago. While there certainly are physical results, it is about so much more as well: taking time for yourself as a mom and making your health a priority, improving overall wellness, gaining strength (and energy!) for motherhood, and connecting with other moms in the area. Moms can sign up at http://chicago.fit4mom.com/locations/little-beans-evanston-stroller-strides-and-body-back (just click on September 7th and enroll). The full 8 week session starts on September 14th.

Stroller Strides Fitness Program

Stroller Strides is a total fitness program that moms can do with their babies. It includes power walking and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using exercise tubing, the stroller and the environment. Taught by certified and specially trained fitness instructors, it is a great workout for any level of exerciser.

Stroller Strides instructors weave songs and activities into the routine designed to entertain and engage baby, while moms are led through a series of exercises specific to her role as mom. Classes are offered outdoors May-October at Elliot Park and indoors November-April at Little Beans. The first class is FREE.

Join us on Saturday, April 30,  for Healthy Kids Day®. HKD is a free, community-wide event and is designed to help kids get a jump start to their summer. Our goal and commitment to the community is to raise awareness about health and encourage families to get active. We have a fun day of activities and demonstrations planned, as well as participation from more than 30 community organizations.

Click here to registerPracticing yoga helps kids connect with their bodies, improves coordination and helps them feel calmer. During this 6 week session, we will practice asana (physical movement), meditation (using breath and sound) & relaxation (story telling & quiet time) to help kids feel more connected into their physical and emotional selves.
Songs, stories, games and dancing will also be used to make learning fun.

Through story and mindful games, we weave together kundalini and hatha yoga poses, meditation exercises with breath and song, and fun for young children. Children have this innate connection with their inner souls, their inner teacher– the practice of Radiant Child Yoga will help them maintain (or in some instances, regain) their natural wisdom and radiance, while also giving them movement and breathing, positive messaging, and fun.

This is a drop-off class.
Children may arrive 10 minutes early to enjoy some water or yogi tea.
Once class begins, it is recommended that adults leave (run some errands or enjoy the cafe at Little Beans Cafe Evanston (next door).

While there are physical results, it is about so much more: taking time for yourself as a mom and making your health a priority, improving overall wellness, gaining strength (and energy!) for motherhood, and connecting with other moms in the area.

Teen/Kids Classes at Hip Circle Studio

Here’s the Hip Circle Studio Teen/Kids class schedule:

  • Teen Bellydance (girls only, grades 6-12) – Mondays, 4:15 – 5:15 pm
  • Kids’ Yoga (all genders, grades 1-5) – Mondays, 4:30 – 5:15 pm
  • Teen Yoga (girls only, grades 6-12) – Tuesdays, 4:15 – 5:15 pm

This schedule will start 9/2 (to avoid Labor Day). Drop-in for $18, get a 5-class card for $70, or a 10-class card for $120. (and if you use code 8145 you can get a 5-class card for $65 through the end of August)

They will also have these family workshops (parents with kids age 4+) monthly, 1:30 – 2:25 pm, $20 per family:

  • Family Yoga – 1st Sunday of the month
  • Family Zumba – 2nd Sunday of the month
  • Mother/Daughter Bellydance – 3rd Sunday of the month (4th Sunday in November)
